Dulwich Festival Director – Job Description
To create, develop and produce the programme for each Dulwich Festival in May, ensuring excellence, balance and accessibility. The programme seeks to encourage wide community engagement whilst attracting artistic endeavour of the highest level.
To work collaboratively with event organisers, including but not limited to, the Artists’ Open House team, the Dulwich Park Fair organisers, the Festival Fair on Goose Green organiser, the Dulwich Society, the Dulwich Picture Gallery, London Wildlife Trust and Bell House.
To produce some events in each Festival, working from initial ideas through to event completion.
To oversee the creation of applications to funding bodies including the local authority.
To oversee and encourage Festival colleagues to develop relationships with existing Festival sponsors and to help to actively research new connections.
To oversee the press and marketing campaign in collaboration with Festival colleagues and to ensure implementation
To work with the Festival Administrator on all aspects of the management of the charity.
To write regular reports and create timely budgets for the Festival Trustees.
To monitor all expenditure and to ensure that it reflects budgets previously agreed. To work with Festival finance colleagues to ensure that the accounts are an accurate reflection of activity.
To represent the charity at all times in a positive, diplomatic and encouraging manner, reflecting the aims and objectives of the charity’s articles of association.
