Opened in 1863 as part of the London, Chatham and Dover Railway Company’s City branch line to Blackfriars, the money paid to the Dulwich Estate for the land to build this section of railway between the two stations made a major contribution towards the construction of the current Dulwich College buildings.

This combined rail/walking tour will give a more detailed idea of how railways were built in the mid C19 and their impact on the surrounding area. Train fare is not included in the price.

Meet: Herne Hill Station
End: Sydenham Hill Station

50% of all History Walks & Talks income is donated to St Christopher’s Hospice.
