The Exchange Erith, Mentsen, Natalia Kasprzycka & Atelier Thirty Four
The Exchange Erith
The Exchange is a community-owned arts & crafts organisation in Erith, SE London. Based in Erith’s Grade II-listed old library, we draw on the building’s history of craft, learning and community to offer new craft-making opportunities locally. Working with professional designers and makers, the community gains skills and friendships while creating beautiful, useful objects. These items are made for community use or for retail sale, generating income to support our craft learning work and the maintenance of our heritage building.
Mentsen
Mentsen is a London-based partnership founded in 2011 by Japanese designers Yasuyuki Sakurai and Risa Sano. Mentsen, meaning ‘lines and surfaces’ in Japanese, references their work across mediums and scales, bridging craft and industrial design.
Natalia Kasprzycka
Natalia is an artist working between Stoke-on-Trent and Bergen. She studied at Camberwell, Clay College and KMD Bergen and is a QEST Scholar, British Ceramics Biennial Associate Artist and co-director of GROUND.
Atelier Thirty Four
Atelier Thirty Four is a UK-based design consultancy established in 2022 by Dave Britton and Harry Hasson. They specialise in product, furniture, lighting and interior design, aligning perfectly with The Exchange Model for Craft.
