The FHL Collective, made up of artists Emma Fenelon, Kipling Hunt and Fraser Lawson, have joined together to organise an intervention/installation to raise money for The Trussell Trust, in this difficult period of lockdown and self-isolation.
A bit about The Trussell Trust:
More and more people are being forced to food banks because there’s nowhere else for them to turn. Last year the food banks in our network provided 1.6 million three-day emergency food supplies to people in crisis and over 500,000 of these went to children. This was an increase of almost 20% on the previous year. And, as the Coronavirus outbreak develops, more people than ever could need our help. Your generous support means food banks will be able to continue to provide the lifeline of emergency food to people in crisis.
Our exhibition was due to be part of the Dulwich Festival, Artists’ Open House, but because of the Covid-19 it was cancelled. Therefore we decided to get creative, well it’s part of our job I suppose. So instead of showing the work inside the venue we are showing it outside the venue in front of the building, and in the front garden.
The theme is the ‘Healing Powers of Flowers’, both from a visual and medicinal point of view. Fraser Lawson not only photographs them, but can also tell you about their medicinal properties. Emma Fenelon takes them into a surreal ceramic state, and Kipling Hunt blows them up before your eyes, to almost life size stature.
FHL will be staging a sealed bid auction, to raise money for The Trussell Trust. All artworks can be bought via sealed bids, the highest one wins in each case. Estimates will be provided for each artwork and the reserve will be fixed on the lower part of the estimate, so they don’t sell for nothing! Bids can be made in person or via their email account: email@example.com
Please provide your name, address, contact number/email, the number of the artwork and bid offer in your sealed bid.
Otherwise if you can’t afford to bid, any donation to the charity would be most welcome, which can be done via text: ‘TTCOMMUNITY 5’ to 70450 to donate £5. This costs £5 plus a std rate msg. Alternatively, you can opt to give any whole amount up to £20. Thanks!
Social distancing will be in place to view the work, however we would ask if you can’t come by: foot, bike, horse or pony, or electric milk cart – then please stay at home and share this event with your friends and family virtually. Sorry, no cars, motorbikes or mopeds are welcome.
